  • Internet Explorer 8 beta 2
    Firefox 3.0.1
    Google Chrome

I tested all of them for speed, content and convenience.

Speed: Hands down, IE8b2 is the fastest of them all. 2nd is FF3 with GChrome last. When viewing our avatars and signatures with Google Chrome, it looses many framerates.

Content: IE8b2 has more options, but still lacks the ability to install certain plugins such as Q3PX 3.1.1. Two things I didn't like in IE7 was the streaking of graphics when loading our site's portal page. It would happen when I tried to scroll down before the site was fully loaded. Another was when IE7 downsized our avatar for the image above our logon. The smaller avatar was very distorted with alot of jagged edges.

Convenience: Firefox 3.0.1 wins due to it's plugin support and compatibility. 2nd is IE8b2 and last GC.

Conclusion: Due to the importance of the Q3PX 3.1.1 plugin and being able to view our custom game server page, I'll be using Firefox 3.0.1.

  • I love the feature in Chrome where it shows thumbnails of recent viewed sites.

  • yeah the more i tinker with it I am finding chrome to be more functional. Especially the options that each browser has from ie 8 to chrome the placement is even better.

Anyway I think each browser was released to kill each other.

I am not sure what google was thinking though in releasing chrome? were they also trying to kill FF?
    Cheers,

  • Google started with their version of an instant messenger called Google Talk. I tried it, but it wasn't the best, but I knew what they're up to. Microsoft tried to buy them out, and they refused. Now Chrome is released. My prediction is that in the next 10 years, Google will release an OS. They definately have the money, but do they have the talent. Money can buy talent. hehe

  • Chrome does accept the plugin for our game server page. The only browser that don't from the list above is IE8b2. Must be some type of copyright thing.

  • i can not express how much i enjoy chrome. i am delighted now to open up that browser. they definitely fixed a lot of problems that most users endured during all the trials and tribulations of its predecessors.
